Well what can be said about one of Long Island’s top tier steakhouses that hasn’t been said before.
As you approach the establishment there’s a small parking lot that requires valet parking which is the norm for this caliber of dining. Once inside, we navigated past a crowded Friday night bar, greeted and promptly shown our table.
The four of us had a few cocktails & two seafood towers back-to-back to start. After a quick Caesar salad, out came the Colorado Cajun Ribeyes, along with some hashbrowns and creamed spinach which were all excellent.
Sadly, I ate so much I didn’t save room for their renowned pecan pie which looked delectable. If there was something to critique it was that they need to replace their rickety old chairs. They were so wobbly I felt like I was on a boat.
In closing, B&C is amongst the best I’ve had in quite some time and it offers everything you’d expect from a classic LI Steakhouse: Outstanding food, attentive service and premium prices.
Consistently AMAZING steaks. This is one of my top 5 restaurants in America. I live 3 hours away but make sure that I get to this area as often as possible. The service and vibe are classic steak house elegant and the food and drinks are fantastic.
I recommend the clams oreganata and the Cajun, bone-in, ribeye. The wedge was just ok so I haven’t tried it again but I will next time.
If you’re a steak fan and you’re within an hour of Bryant @ Cooper, YOU MUST go there.
One of the best meals of my life. The wait staff were very attentive and kind. The cocktails we had before our meal were excellent. And the meal itself was incredible. The Prime Rib was superb and the sides such as hash browns and apsaragus were perfect. 10/10 worth every penny!!
After more than two decades, revisiting Bryant and Cooper since we relocated has been a delight. Everything, from the food to the service, remains consistently fantastic. Our dining experience was superb, and our server was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. We're willing to make the 35-minute drive just to return – it truly exceeded our expectations.
We had an 8:30 reservation on a Tuesday. We weren't sat until 9:15. The waiter didn't check in with us for another 15 minutes. We were never served water until the order was taken. After that we were rushed through each course at an unreasonable pace. We were obviously the last seating and the whole staff around us exuded a bitter air of resentment. The appetizers were whatevs; oysters were ok, shrimp cocktail was ok. Crab cake was salty.
The entrees were as adequate as you would hope for 80$ a pop. The side dishes were -average. Cream spinach was gross, the mash potatoes were pedestrian, the zucchini fries were greasy and soggy.
Overall, I think this place is good if you have unlimited money and like meat. I will make it a point not to return here.
This fancy restaurant was fantastic! Our Server was very great and no food problems were made! The food was great as well. The Bread and Butter tastes very good. The soft Prime Sirloin Steak was The Decor was very nice and admiring. There was perfect lighting, fantastic and detailed paintings, and comfortable seats. There was no wait in line when three people and I made a reservation at 6:30. The temperature was also warm and perfect for the cold winter. The clean silverware and plates were also PERFECT for the dishes! Everything was perfect in the restaurant for me except for this. Why did the employees here don’t put Christmas lights around the plants and around the restaurant(does not count for a bad thing in this great restaurant but I was just saying)? I thought for this restaurant to be decorative. I know that it’s too early to put in lights since it’s MORE THAN A WEEK until Christmas,so for now, I will count on people to hopefully put some pictures of the build in Christmas Eve. 😊😊😊
1 star because the Cajun Colorado Rib Streak was awesome. Best steak I have had in a long time, definitely better than Luger. Maryland crab cake was good. I did not enjoy the scallop special at all - it was actually mushy. Drinks were as expected but on the pricier side.
And here goes the bad....service was absolutely atrocious. We were a party of 4 and were seated shortly after arriving which was awesome for such a highly sought after venue. Upon being seated, our waiter (tall and heavy set) asked for our drinks but we hadn't even had a chance to look at the menu and it was our first time there. From there, it went downhill real fast. We didn't get menus for 15 minutes so we thought we had to look online with our phones which we did until we were given some menus (finally). Food came quickly and I had asked them to do a little birthday surprise for my friend. Boy we were surprised! Surprised at the lack of effort they made because they walked up to the table and lit the candle in front of his face. What!!?!?
Will I come back? Probably for the steak but only on a very desperate day. Did I feel like I was being treated differently than others because of my race? Yes and absolutely because the tables around us who arrived after we did got menus almost immediately upon seating with a much warmer welcome. Our server was borderline rude and unprofessional. I can't fathom any venue still treats their patrons differently because of race/ethnicity in NYC in 2023!
Great food, good vibe. It's worth all of the money. Make sure to order the Porterhouse steak. It's really, really big and enough for a group of 5 people to eat.
